Description
The novel is built on a vast array of clichés about chivalry, masculinity, and the well-defined characteristics of the Eastern man. The characters were well-defined, each with a dominant personality and predictable reactions. The mention and description of the impact of the Lebanese Civil War on the Lebanese characters, especially those with sharp and off-putting personalities, also contributed to my decision to finish it.
