Description
This book argues that the primary, if not sole, reference point in the relationship between religion and state, and in the application of Sharia, is the practice of the Companions of the Prophet. Therefore, there is a need to return to the original state, as it was, open and uncodified, before the emergence of sectarian differences and the rise of different schools of thought—that is, as it was during the time of the Rightly Guided Caliphs.
