Description

In this book, philosopher Taha Abd al-Rahman opens new horizons for reflection on the Prophet’s biography. After examining the limitations of Ibn al-Nafis’s logical approach and Ibn Khaldun’s historical one, he presents his own distinctive ethical approach. He employs an interpretive method to demonstrate that the Prophet’s biography is not merely a unique ethical model with inexhaustible practical implications, but rather the firm foundation upon which all ethics—values, actions, and states—must be built. He concludes by asserting that the “perfection of good morals,” as defined by the Prophetic mission, is not, in reality, the addition of new values from the existing set, but rather the provision of ideal values and fundamental principles that establish and legitimize good morals.
