Description
A true story set in 1940 in Oran, Algeria. It vividly describes the Algerian landscape and the Algerian people, their customs, traditions, and struggle against colonialism, backwardness, and hunger. The plague claims hundreds, even thousands, of victims every day. Finally, the wave subsides, the number of victims decreases, and the city council announces that the epidemic has ended. The city gates will remain closed, and health measures will remain in place as a precaution against the disease’s recurrence.
