Description

This book represents the culmination of two journeys. The first is the spiritual ascension of the Sufi from creation to Truth, from the world of earthly transience to the world of eternity in the Divine Presence. This journey is embodied in the legacy and thought of Imam Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (d. 561 AH) and what he indicated in his sayings and writings. The second journey was undertaken by the author step by step across Egypt to observe the current state of the Qadiriyya order in the Islamic world, presenting four branches of the Qadiriyya in Egypt, remnants of this order that flourished for centuries in Egypt (the protected land).
