“Quranic Stories” is a new, scholarly analysis of the stories of the prophets, published in six consecutive volumes.
The author deconstructs the traditional mentality that has dealt with the stories, criticizing their reliance on Babylonian and biblical myths and their neglect of the principle of research and travel on earth as a primary starting point for understanding history. He arrives at conclusions that negate the contradiction between the Quran and science, bringing Quranic stories out of the shadow of historical narrative and into humanistic and cognitive horizons.
The first volume begins with an introduction that presents a philosophy of history through a scientific, methodological reading of the Quranic stories, employing emerging knowledge in the fields of anthropology and archaeology. It also includes the story of Adam as a practical example of the methodology he proposes, for understanding it scientifically and philosophically.
