Description
This book contains a study and critical edition of the treatise “Introduction to Sufism,” which is considered one of the earliest Sufi texts that shaped Sufi practice and defined a set of ethical principles for Muslim Sufis.
The author of the manuscript is Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami (the renowned historian of Sufism, died 412 AH). The set of ethical principles and values presented in the treatise is not intended as a comprehensive ethical framework, but rather as brief reflections on certain Islamic values and Sufi concepts such as love, compassion, and generosity, etc.
