Description
This book explores the story of Amman during the 1950s. It depicts the lives of a generation whose characters were shaped by specific social, cultural, and political factors—a time when the “new” Amman (now considered the “old” Amman) was expanding through its growing infrastructure, schools, and population. The book revisits social life in general, while focusing specifically on the experiences of schoolgirls, female teachers, and pioneering women, as well as the customs and traditions that were then beginning to evolve—many of which bear little resemblance to those of today.
