Description
I don’t know if it’s a man’s bias towards what he’s written and knows, or if he’s simply judging the subject regardless of the changing times.
But I’m almost convinced that the printed book has a long lifespan and remains ever-present, no matter how much the world around it becomes crowded.
In other words, the written word endures, while the spoken word on radio and television is fleeting, and the digital word on a computer is effervescent, and like all effervescence, it vanishes.
That is to say, the written word is a solid structure, like stone or metal, and so is all construction. Anything else is a fleeting, changeable, glittering, and glittering cry.
For a writer of paper and ink, his writing is the culmination of his life’s work, and thus, this collection ultimately represents a lifetime of books.
