Description

“The preacher: I see that’s an unenviable position… Haven’t you heard any news about the formation of the new cabinet?”

Office Manager: Perhaps it was formed today.

The preacher: If you hadn’t rushed to send the former minister’s letters to his home this morning, I would have had a different reaction.”

How strange this world is! How many acts of kindness have turned to their opposite the moment someone leaves office! This is what everyone knows about life and its people, and it’s what this play revolves around. It tells the story of the ambitious young man who sent a letter to a minister informing him that he was breaking off his daughter’s engagement on the very night the cabinet reshuffle was announced, thinking the minister would be excluded from the new cabinet. Then he discovers that the minister was retained in the new cabinet, so he rushes off in a panic, trying to salvage the message. What will he do?
