Description
Despite the many books that explore Egyptian religion and its details, this book distinguishes itself, for the first time, by presenting the eight primary and secondary components of religion in its classification of the components of Egyptian religion. Each component occupies a chapter in the book, and its components are discussed and analyzed with precision and detail. This classification, which I have read, is a scientific approach adopted by the author in his research on religions themselves or in their continuous, sequential history, presents us with consistent and interconnected elements, free of overlap and confusion. The primary components appear as if they represent the founding framework of the religion, in its authentic religious texts and references (beliefs, myths, rituals, and the afterlife). The secondary components, on the other hand, represent the social framework of the religion, operating among people and radiating sociological components that give a practical flavor to the principles of that religion and parallel its primary components. These components are ethics, laws, sacred narratives, the community, sects, esoteric practices, and secrets. The importance of this book lies in its attempt to uncover the inner secrets of the Egyptian religion and the profound and rare development of these secrets along complex esoteric and symbolic paths. The book discusses all these matters in detail, using a solid scientific approach and essential references. Its evidence is presented in detailed images, symbols, and tables. The author adds an introductory chapter that explains the history and development of the Egyptian religion, from its roots in prehistoric times to its formation and maturity in the ancient historical eras, spanning approximately four stages (the ancient, medieval, modern, and Hellenistic). This provides research into it with a comprehensive panoramic view of one of the greatest religions of antiquity, clarifying its known aspects and its hidden secret depths with scientific, delicate, and fluent language.
