From this perspective, I ask my readers to engage with my writings, and with this particular novel, in which they will find a flavor they are not accustomed to in my other novels.
The madman—the focus of this novel—imposed his madness upon me, and perhaps for this reason, the novel is presented in this unfamiliar way. The chapters are interwoven; they can be arranged as they happen, or they can be read in ascending or descending order. Without any order, the main character disintegrates rather than grows. The element of suspense, or rather the thread by which the book connects its readers to the work, is not represented in the growth and ramifications of the event, but rather in the search for the existence of some event that can be the subject of the writing, while simultaneously delving into the state of madness. A complete contradiction between strict logic and the absence of logic. Perhaps I, as a reader, am personally dissatisfied with some of this, but as a writer, I find myself compelled to assume the role of the madman, if I don’t actually become one, and I find myself compelled to defend the situation.
