Description
In his story “The Killers’ Party,” author Ali Bader sheds light on a period of history rife with assassinations and mass killings. He masterfully portrays this era, making the reader experience these moments as if they were real. It is a dark time, yet death and beauty coexist in this place. Here, it is as if Bader is suggesting to the reader that we, as human beings, manipulate this beauty, and that we can turn it into hell for those who disagree with us. Secondly, on the surface, this place appears to be for entertainment, as its protagonist says: “On the first day, I knew it was a place for the families of high-ranking officers in the Political Investigations Department to entertain themselves, but later I learned that the first floor, the basement, and the internal garage were the interrogation, prison, and operational sites.”
