“It is not surprising that ‘dialogue’ has become synonymous with ‘truth.’ Just as the essence of speech, in terms of its content, is truth, so too is the essence of speech, in terms of its speaker, dialogue. And just as the witness, in particular, is obligated to speak the truth, so too is the opposing speaker, in general, obligated to engage in dialogue. Dialogue contributes to broadening the mind and deepening its understanding in ways that mere observation without dialogue cannot. Dialogue is like looking from two sides, not one side. Since my belief in the benefit of dialogue was early and strong, I decided to present to the reader summaries of the dialogues I have conducted with media institutions at various times. These dialogues were not mere ‘chats,’ but rather insightful statements and purposeful reflections that facilitate the reader’s acquisition of a comprehensive opinion on matters of ‘heritage,’ ‘philosophy,’ ‘logic,’ ‘translation,’ etc. My hope is that the reader will gain from them insights that will benefit them in their present and future.”
