Description
In this book—as in the preceding volumes translated by our dear friend, Professor Jamal Abu Ghayda—we begin to grasp the profound strength and energy that took shape during the 19th century, paving the way for the Zionist project: the establishment of a state in Palestine.
We also come to realize the urgent and vital need for further scholarly inquiry into “the other”—specifically by translating the foundational thought that facilitated the emergence and growth of the Zionist project, which sought to seize Palestinian land for the purpose of establishing a Jewish state.
This book, along with other texts from the 19th century, was influenced by the currents of Anglican messianism—a movement that was steadily on the rise. It remains prevalent in the United States today, exerting a significant influence on various facets of American life. At certain junctures, it has also shaped the decisions of political leaders—within the White House, the halls of the Senate and the House of Representatives, and among broad segments of the diverse American public, a population often lacking a unifying core.
