Ibn Battuta’s Travels entitled The Masterpiece of the Observers of the Marvelous Cities

This book covers travel and urban history. It recounts the stories of the most famous Muslim traveler who visited Egypt, the Levant, the Hejaz, Iraq, Turkey, India, China, the Malabar Islands, Bengal, and Pakistan. He addressed the places and people within two perspectives: the scientific and the Sufi. He did not neglect the literary aspect, however, as he focused on the poetry of the nations he visited. His book has become a source of solace for the reader, a source of benefit for the discerning, and a pioneer in travel books. It has been edited for greater clarity and usefulness.
