Description
In this treatise, we will examine the concept of the Islamic state as understood by those calling for the return of the Caliphate, the conditions of the Caliphate during the reigns of Abu Bakr and Umar, and the state of government and society during the time of the Prophet Muhammad. Following this, we will discuss the Islamic government and its powers as described in the Quran. Our conclusion is that calling for the return of the Caliphate does not lead to the establishment of an Islamic state that achieves justice and equality, preserves rights, and develops the earth as God promised in His Holy Book. Rather, Muslims must establish a state governed solely by God’s law, without any partners, according to a written constitution and laws.
