Description
I dedicate this book to the first mosque my memory opened to… the “Mosque of the Caliphs” in the heart of Baghdad, dating back to the third century AH, when Baghdad was the capital of the Caliphate… when Baghdad was truly “Baghdad”… To an unforgettable afternoon prayer my father took me there… a memory etched in my veins… even though today the memory seems as distant as if I prayed it in the third century AH!… I dedicate this book to the “Mosque of the Caliphs,” to its foundations that today seem on the verge of collapse… hoping that this book will strengthen it… or contribute to its rebuilding… on new foundations… and hoping that Baghdad will return to its former self…
