Description
The novel “Aw” presents the serious and fierce conflict between dictatorship and the simple dreams of humanity. It boldly exposes the attempt to transform this individual into a cog in the machine of power, thus making him part of its game, or games. To the extent that “Aw” reflects and observes the consciousness of authority, it also observes the phenomenon of the intellectual falling into the trap of advocating for the coexistence of the artist and the ruler. This comes within the context of the new Arabic novel, which has begun to break free from traditional methods and rely on multiple pillars to construct its architecture, using a new language.
