The story begins with a novel about a man with a strange, “chaotic” philosophy who meets a “somewhat weak” woman. The story continues in this vein for several pages until the author intervenes in the text. Later, the author discovers a strange parallel between her novel and reality. She discovers that the movie theater where she arranged the meeting actually exists and is showing a film at the same time. Curiosity drives the author to attend the movie, only to find the protagonist of the novel.
Events begin to intertwine when she meets someone she believes is “the person in question,” who resembles the hero of the first part and, to the reader, imagines that he is from her trilogy, “Memory in the Flesh.” This is a wonderful story in which the author conveys the Algerian struggle and Algerian women, as well as the heritage of Constantine.
