This is a new type of research into the history of Arabic poetry, one that people in our country have never experienced before. I am almost certain that some will find it distasteful, while others will shun it. However, despite the scorn and shun of those, I want to publish this research, or more accurately, record it. I published it before today when I spoke about it to my students at the university, and it’s no secret that I spoke about it to more than two hundred people. I am convinced by the results of this research with a conviction I know I have felt similarly in the various situations I have encountered in the history of Arabic literature. This strong conviction is what compels me to record this research and publish it in these chapters, unconcerned with the scorn of those who shun it or the shunning of those who shun it. I am confident that this research, although it may upset some and cause hardship for others, will satisfy this small group of enlightened people, who are truly the future, the foundation of the modern renaissance, and the treasure of new literature.
