Description
Titled “Before the Coffee Gets Cold: Tales from the Coffee Shop,” the novel is written by Toshikazu Kawaguchi and translated into Arabic by Majed Hamed.
“Before the Coffee Gets Cold: Tales from the Coffee Shop” by Japanese author Toshikazu Kawaguchi tells the story of a small back alley in Tokyo that has been serving carefully brewed coffee for over a hundred years. But this coffee shop offers its customers, in addition to the coffee, a unique experience: the opportunity to travel through time. As in the first part of Before the Coffee Gets Cold, we read about four new customers, each hoping to benefit from time travel. In addition to the characters we know from the previous novel, we will also learn about:
• The man who returned to see his best friend, who died 22 years ago.
• The son who was unable to attend his father’s funeral.
• The man who traveled to see the girl he never married.
• And the detective who never had the chance to give his wife a birthday present.
This simple and beautiful novel tells the story of people who must confront their pasts in order to move forward with their lives. Kawaguchi once again invites the reader to ask themselves: What would you change if you could travel through time?
