The issue isn’t about using or misusing the mind. The problem lies within the mind itself, not in its use or misuse. Remember, you cannot use the mind until you know how to be without it. Only those who know how to be without the mind are capable of using it; otherwise, the mind uses them. It is the mind that uses you. But it is very clever and keeps deceiving you. It keeps saying, “You are using me.” The mind is using you. You are being used now; the mind has become your master, and you are the slave, but the mind is very clever because it keeps supporting you. It says, “I am merely the instrument, while you are the master.” But observe, examine the mechanism of the mind, how it keeps using you while you believe you are using it. You can only use it when you know you are separate from it; otherwise, how will you use it? You are known through it.
