Description
Joy and happiness are fleeting moments, snatched away, giving us a powerful and lasting feeling. Sorrow, weariness, grief, and despair, however, linger longer. This is especially true for Arab peoples, perhaps even more so than for others. Therefore, we cling to hope and dedicate ample space to it. As much as the absence of loved ones saddens us, we search in their legacy for the hopes they pursued, forging paths of dreams and light.
This book is dedicated to a number of those who have passed away, who strived and exerted themselves to open these paths, their efforts remarkable even in death.
“The Agony of Absence” is a journey through lives and texts, where death is the event, and hope is its essence.
