Manuscript Found in Acre is a novel by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho. The story takes place in the year 1099 in Jerusalem, as the city prepares for an invasion by the Crusaders. Within the city walls, the men and women of the city gather to hear advice from the mysterious Greek wise man known as Copt. People begin with questions about their fears, real enemies, defeat and struggle, and consider the will to change, and the virtues of loyalty and unity; eventually they change the subject to beauty, sex, elegance, and love.
