Description
The four sat with a small candle in their midst. If its flame reached the ceiling of the house, it meant the jinn servant had arrived. Al-Hayy ibn al-Qassab sat far from them. Then the four began to recite the words in unison until they finished. Suddenly, al-Hayy ibn al-Qassab’s voice rose, saying: “Ariqa, ariqa, faliqa, faliqa, halifa, halifa, come to me, humble, humble. Attend wherever you are, attend, for you are surrounded by him on every side. Samsa’il al-Hawam, Yaquf al-Mukhlabi, Samsa’il al-Hawam, Yaquf al-Mukhlabi. Return, O soldiers of the giant, return, O soldiers of the giant. Come, O shaved one, come, O shaved one. Servants of the jinn, by the right of Samsa’il, come to me. Attend, O soldiers of the giant, to be the greatest army. Revelation, revelation. Hasten, hasten. Now, now. Attend by the right of my claw.” Then the candle’s flame rose to the ceiling of the house.
