Description
This book examines the active and influential social structures of Nablus, as well as the historical transformations the city has experienced—from the era of the Crusades and the Ayyubid period, through the rule of various Islamic dynasties (Ayyubids, Mamluks, and Ottomans), the British Mandate, the period of union with Jordan, the Israeli occupation, and finally, the era of the Palestinian National Authority.
As Khammash notes, the profiles of the individuals featured in the book begin with an overview of their general characteristics—broad conclusions drawn after completing the research for each biography and reviewing all available documentation. These core traits and essential elements are then distilled and highlighted through a descriptive subtitle for each figure. Regarding the sequence of events and the progression of these life stories, the author follows a chronological or historical timeline; however, intellectual achievements and creative contributions are addressed separately at the end of each biography.
