Description

(Philosophical Letters to the Weak)
Every journey has a starting point known to the traveler, even if the destination is unknown, or not yet known.

These letters have a starting point that is not without its own intrigue, and it must be mentioned at the outset:

During my long athletic career, I observed that the founders of Budo, the Japanese martial art descended from the samurai tradition, were physically weak, short in stature, and some even suffered from frail health. To compensate for their weakness, each of them, in their own way, dedicated themselves to re-examining samurai traditions across their various schools and temples, contemplating the fighting styles of animals in the wilds and forests, and reflecting on the phenomena of nature and their manifestations of strength and weakness. They studied how the power of water, wind, and tree branches is generated from suppleness, flexibility, and softness. All of this was done in parallel with their efforts to rediscover themselves in their physical and spiritual dimensions, until each of them developed a martial art that offered the physically weak the opportunity to triumph over the strong in any physical fight, and, above all, the possibility of overcoming any feelings of weakness that might lie dormant within them.
