Description
Human beings do not live in the world as things do.
A stone exists in its place, a tree grows in its soil, and the sea flows in its course. But humans are not content with merely existing among things; they carry within them a mysterious need to understand their place among them. They are the only beings who do not confront reality as a mere external surface, but constantly transform it into a question, a meaning, a wound, a memory, and a possibility.
Therefore, humans do not inhabit the world as it is, but rather after it has passed through their consciousness, after it has been shaped within them as images, symbols, fears, dreams, and expectations. The external world does not enter the human being naked, but rather carried on layers of interpretation, as if the soul cannot touch life except by giving it a name, a shadow, or a metaphor.
