We present to the Arabic reader the new translation of the three-volume work “Das Kapital,” the major work by Karl Marx, which he spent four decades preparing. This translation is identical to the German edition published by Dietz Verlag-Berlin in 1984, which is based on the fourth German edition published in Hamburg in 1890 for volume one, the second German edition, also published in Hamburg in 1893 for volume two, and the first German edition, published in Hamburg in 1894 for volume three. After the publication of the first volume of Das Kapital in 1867, Marx worked tirelessly and painstakingly on preparing volumes two and three, determined to complete the entire work without delay, but he did not succeed. He devoted a large portion of his time to his activities on the General Council of the International Workingmen’s Association, and his absence from work was increasingly frequent due to his poor health. After Engels’ death on March 14, 1883, he undertook the task of reviewing the final manuscripts and preparing them for publication. Volume Two appeared in 1885 and Volume Three in 1894.
