The Origin of Species is a book by Charles Darwin published in 1859. It is considered one of the most influential works in modern science and a cornerstone of evolutionary biology. The full title is “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection; or, the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.” In it, Darwin presents his theory that organisms evolve over generations.
