A young woman meets a man named Maxim de Winter, who proposes to her and moves her to his luxurious mansion, Monte Carlo. However, she soon discovers that the mansion is haunted by the ghost of Maxim’s ex-wife, Rebecca, who was beautiful and beloved. Gradually, the heroine of the story begins to feel threatened and stressed by this mysterious figure, and she discovers dark secrets about Rebecca and Maxim’s life.
