Description
Zionism is a complex phenomenon with many dimensions. It emerged as an idea in Europe in the late 17th century, crystallized in the mid-19th century, and then manifested itself initially in the World Zionist Organization in the late 19th century, and finally in the Zionist state in the mid-20th century. This expansionist state annexed all of Palestine, invaded Lebanon, and continued to achieve military victories until 1967, after which it began to suffer defeats, starting with the War of Attrition and ending with the withdrawal from southern Lebanon, including the defeat of 1973. Zionism has faced various forms of Arab resistance from 1882 to the present day.
