Description
Socialism is the culmination of many aspirations, beliefs, and reformist principles that captivate minds: governments fear it, legislators manage it, and nations see in it the dawn of new destinies.
Thus began Le Bon’s exploration of socialism, in which he applied the ideas he had previously established in his books “The Secret of the Development of Nations” and “The Crowd’s Spirit.” He did not delve into the details of socialist doctrines, contenting himself with studying its essence and examining the reasons for its emergence and the factors that hinder or facilitate its spread. He highlighted the perpetual conflict between the old principles, deeply ingrained in people’s minds and still relied upon by societies, and the modern principles, born of the new environments resulting from the development of modern science and industry.
