Description
“The Poet,” or “Cyrano de Bergerac,” is an epic romantic play by the French writer Edmond Rostand, translated into Arabic in an eloquent literary style by the Egyptian writer Mustafa Lutfi al-Manfaluti. The play immortalizes a story of rare sacrifice, revolving around a clever and courageous, but unattractive, hero who prioritizes the well-being and happiness of his beloved by using his eloquence and poetry to serve another handsome young man whom she loves.
