Description
Dr. … says: In his book, the author notes that the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation—carried out by Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in the Gaza Strip—along with its repercussions, stands as one of the most significant Palestinian, Arab, and regional events witnessed in the Middle East during the first quarter of the current century. Prior to October 7, 2023, the Palestinian cause was on the verge of fading into oblivion, and the Palestinian resistance movement against the Israeli occupation seemed poised to fall into a deep slumber. Arab leaders were racing to normalize relations, opening embassies in Tel Aviv, welcoming waves of Israeli tourists, and exchanging high-level visits with the occupying Israeli enemy.
The Al-Aqsa Flood operation roused the Palestinians from their slumber and shook the Arab world out of its complacency. It exposed the hideous nature of the occupation and the atrocity of its crimes, as well as its clear determination to exterminate the Palestinian people and subject them to racial discrimination. The world—particularly the West (the United States and the European Union)—became alert to Israel’s war crimes and acts of genocide; populations condemned these atrocities, and university students across the US and Europe mobilized to protest their governments’ pro-Israel stances—governments that supply Israel with state-of-the-art weaponry and provide political and financial backing.
