Description
This book is a serious attempt to find a key to understanding the four Quranic verses from Surah Ash-Shu’ara (The Poets) that mention poets followed by the misguided, and to grasp their meaning.
Do these verses embody a clear hostility towards poetry and poets in general, or do they refer to specific poets? The author examines the Quran’s stance on poetry and poets, concluding that Islam’s position is not characterized by hostility or opposition to poetry as poetry or poets as poets. Rather, the verses refer to the poetry of disbelievers who insulted the Prophet and fought against the Islamic call in word and deed.
