Description
This book explores the comparisons Ibn Arabi himself draws between his own experiences and those of the Great Prophet—concerning matters such as miraculous gifts (*karamat*) and the Prophet’s Ascension (*Mi’raj*). It examines how Ibn Arabi fell into the trap of establishing a hierarchy of “the superior and the inferior,” thereby—intentionally or otherwise—diminishing the exalted status of the Prophet Muhammad. The book neither seeks to demonize nor to sanctify Ibn Arabi; rather, it endeavors to examine his views with the objective, truth-seeking detachment of a researcher.
